Elevating Toronto’s Youth Development and Sports Infrastructure
Our programs work along as many axes as possible to help young people become the best versions of themselves: spanning the construction of new sports infrastructure, the development of programming and activities to support existing facilities, and the creation of classroom programs to run in parallel with athletic initiatives.
Our Values
-
At Strength to Lead, it is our project to ensure that every young person, regardless of their background or the barriers to access they face, has a fair chance to develop the confidence, coordination, and discipline that sports can teach.
-
Across the GTA, there are countless communities which lack sufficient access to safe, high-quality, accessible sports facilities. In partnership with established community leaders and organisations, we work to level these communities’ infrastructure up to best-in-class standards.
-
We do not believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Each community we serve has different priorities, interests, and visions for the future; we see it as a responsibility, and a privilege, to engage with those visions step-by-step, working tirelessly to support, understand, and realise them.
-
We understand that it is not sufficient for infrastructure merely to exist: it must be activated through programs. Our network of activities, lessons, pop-ups, and more works to ensure that no youth is left unsure of how they can engage in sports.
-
To complement our robust athletic curricula, we have worked with educators and Members of Parliament to develop classroom programs which teach nutrition, financial and digital literacy, and other valuable practical skills.
